Celtic Lodge '21

CAMP CELTIC IS A SUMMER CAMP FOR KIDS, SINCE 1984.

But... a brand new thing for Camp Celtic is now available if you are interested in a rustic "camp-like" getaway this Spring.

We are offering the Celtic Lodge experience, that includes accommodation, meals, and a variety of Celtic Camp activities....water sports, land sports, nature lore, camp crafts, and games.

Celtic can be your base for exploring the Bruce Peninsula in all of its splendour. Visit local beaches, the Bruce Trail, or one of our 2 National Parks. Seek out local artisans and shops, or just enjoy relaxing around camp!

If you can work remotely, you should be able to find some time to get some things done while here, and know that the rest of your group will be enjoying the amenities of camp. ( Our WiFi is somewhat limited, so using a mobile Hot Spot might be required for extensive internet services.)

ACCOMMODATIONS

Choose from ONE of our FIVE available CABINS (Occupancy: 6-12 people)

Cabins are furnished with bunk beds and mattresses. Each cabin also comes with a cozy campfire pit. Families are responsible for bringing their own bedding (sheets, sleeping bags, blankets and pillows), towels, and toiletries. Cabins have limited electricity, so additional appliances are not permitted.

Shared Washroom/Shower Facilities

Washroom facilities will be gender-neutral, and each family/group will be assigned to a specific central washroom, with one or two other families. Each family will be designated their own sink and toilet stall to use for the duration of their stay.

MEALS INCLUDED

Menu

Our kitchen team will be preparing a variety of delicious and nutritious meals throughout each session. Every meal will include tasty and healthy options for vegetarians at no additional cost. For those with special dietary preferences and restrictions (i.e., vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free), we will make every effort to work with each individual to customize our menu.

Meal Service

Each family or group will have spacious dining locations available in, and around our large Celtic Dining Hall. There will be indoor and outdoor options for all meals, which will be physically distanced from other tables. All meals will be served ‘family style’, meaning that food platters will be delivered to each table and families can dish out their own portions. Our dedicated Celtic Staff will be serving each family! We do the dishes!!

PROGRAMME

Activities

Our team of experienced Celtic Staff will be offering a variety of camp programmes during each Celtic Lodge session. Families will have individual, dedicated guidance in kayaking, archery, ropes and climbing, outdoor adventures, nature interpretation, yoga, and tennis....as well as the use of our basketball and volleyball courts.

Our programme coordinator will help you sign up for your customized choice of events, and help you make your all-inclusive stay at Celtic fantastic.

Some things you might do while here.....

Go for a hike, visit the village of Lions Head or Tobermory, see one or both of our National Parks, or one of our many Provincial Nature Parks, hike a chunk of the Bruce Trail, go to the beach, have a game of tennis, travel to Wiarton, Hepworth, Sauble Beach, or Owen Sound for a game of golf, read a book or two, bird watch, star gaze, have a campfire outside your cabin.

STAFF

Celtic Camp Counsellors are a group of bright, fun, and friendly people who love camp, and who love helping our guests enjoy a meaningful and memorable time here. Skilled in many areas of diverse interest, our Staff will facilitate your family's enjoyment of being on the Bruce.

Just like in 2020, we have isolated here at Celtic since early May, and have taken part in Covid testing and regular health evaluations to ensure everyone's safety.

WELCOME TO ALL

Families and groups of all kinds are invited to enjoy the lodge experience at Camp Celtic. This includes singles, couples, single-parent families, 2SLGBTQI+ families, extended families (grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.) and other households (i.e., roommates, families that have ‘merged’ households, etc.).

***It is important to note that physical distancing is NOT a realistic thing to do within most of Celtic's accommodations. Therefore, it is imperative that all people staying in the same building have already accepted the risk of interacting together in the same household prior to coming to camp.***

DATES AND RATES...

There are 2 price schedules, one for cabin accommodation, and another for cottage accommodation. The fundamental differences are central washrooms/showers vs. in-house washroom facilities, and a bit more private sleeping quarters in the cottages vs. the cabins. Meals and all other amenities are the same.
