Another Great Summer in the Books!

With a mix of such sunny, warm weather, great kids, and an outstanding staff, how could this Summer at Camp Celtic not have been a success? As we get deeper into the colder, shorter days of Autumn we can’t help but look back upon the Summer with fond nostalgia.

    Rookie Camp!
One of the highlights included our first ever Rookie Camp where over 60 first –time campers between the ages of 6-8 enjoyed 3 fun-filled days of crafts, games, sports, and outdoor adventure and education. For many of them, it was their first time being away from home. Although some were reluctant to say good-bye to moms and dads on Sunday, they all settled right into the fun and welcoming atmosphere of camp, and were sad to leave on Tuesday. With the parting hugs and tears along with promises to come back for a longer stay next Summer it was clear to us that the rookies and parents alike had overcome their original fears. The world’s not such a scary place after all!

“Thank you, thank you, thank you! I picked up my daughter yesterday from her first ever camp experience. She had nothing but good things to say and fun stories to tell on the car-ride home. You’ll definitely see her back next year!”

Sure Camp is Fun, But it’s Educational Too!

Some people call it “tricking” kids into learning, but what we really do at camp is keep kids engaged by making learning fun; by making learning cool. We use the forest, the beach and the beaver pond as our classrooms. Although our counselors aren’t all experts with teaching degrees, the atmosphere they foster is one of curiosity and genuine interest in learning. This invites campers to be curious and interested too, helping to make wanting to learn a lifelong attitude, instead of something they feel forced to do.
